Out of those 57 village officials, 24 domains are threatened by floods. Among them, there is a severe threat of river water in Ranala, Navagamuwa, Upper Bomiriya, Wakewatta, Lower Bomiriya, Welihinda, Tunadahena, Kaduwela, Welivita Village Niladhari Domain.<br>Every year, there is a threat of floods twice a year, and the last time the floods occurred, the people were affected as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gram Niladhari Domains under flood threat \u2013 24<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of days under water \u2013 14 days<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of affected families \u2013 2376<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of people affected &#8211; 8451<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of Safe Centers \u2013 08<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>(As mentioned in Annexure 01)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat claims the highest number of private universities. Because of this, it is an area that is constantly being overpopulated through migration. Every year the people are affected by the threat of floods and they are also affected by the floods due to buying land and building houses without understanding the flood prone areas. Because of this, every year a new population and especially children are threatened by floods.<br>Therefore, I intend to design a website that can be used to reduce the damage caused to the population affected by the threat of floods and especially to children. By that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mapping of flood prone areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily reports issued by the Meteorological Department<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reports of the Building Research Organisation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily information of the Kelani River water gauges of the Irrigation Department<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Daily reports of reservoirs that release water into the Kelani River<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>etc. All data related to flooding can be entered on a daily basis. This will greatly help the people of the areas, the business community of the areas, the principals of the schools, the security department including the police stations and the people who are interested in buying and settling the land, get an understanding of the area and prepare plans. Also, this will help government and non-government organizations providing services related to floods to prepare plans in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project requirement and problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lack of a formal information system that can immediately take care of the damages and effects that may occur due to floods.
